Photographer Kevin Carter won the Pulitzer Prize for this photograph of a clearly malnourished child crawling towards the United Nations camp, which was a shelter for famine victims and provides food in Sudan. No one knows the fate of the child, but the photographer committed suicide three months later as a result of the depression that struck him due to his presence in Sudan to cover the events of the famine at the time.
